After Mind and Body’s 2013 strategic review indicated in-house I.T. management was no longer sustainable, they transitioned to Layer3’s Cloud Office computing system.

“We were not big enough to maintain our own flexible, current and well supported system, so I started researching New Zealand-based cloud providers,” says Laura.

Mind & Body operates three offices throughout the country, though Laura says the majority of their staff are out in the community working with clients, and don’t have their own office space.

Working from anywhere

“With Layer3’s cloud system, all our staff need is a computer and an internet connection to access their files, individual emails and calendar, and a variety of software including Microsoft Office 2013.

“If they have a computer and an internet connection, they can enter our system from anywhere.” 

Laura says the transition to Layer3’s system was “seamless”. “We had some prep work to do, but Layer3 took care of everything – it was amazing. “We had no teething issues at all, and Layer3 said it was straightforward from their end, too.”

Always there to help

One of the things that made this transition so smooth, says Laura, is Layer3’s dedicated support. “The staff are very responsive, and use simple language, so everything is easy to understand – and they’re more than happy to help answer any questions.

“I also got a sense of a good organisational culture match – I felt very comfortable, and they were honest, friendly and helpful, not pushy or forceful. “This helped us communicate easily and, in the end, come to the right decision in our own time to move to their cloud system.”
